Hello there! My name is Amanda. I always felt a calling to the natural world yet, I was unable to begin answering this calling until I entered college. Rock climbing, and the community that came with it, stole my heart and opened a new gateway of exploration and bewilderment. My perspective on this world gradually changed and allowed me to see the puzzle pieces of me and this unknown, natural world starting to fit together.
I graduated college with a degree in kinesiology. The tantalizing future of life out of college was upon me but I had found salvation in the search engine, Google. I discovered the wonderful world of guiding in the wilderness therapy field. For six months, I guided and learned the physical and mental skills that came with living and working in the outdoors. In addition, I cultivated the ability to use effective communication skills, ways to be emotionally vulnerable, and methods to increase other’s self-efficacy as well as my own.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to confront the essential facts of life, and to see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not yet lived.” – Henry David Thoreau
